About Kente Kitchen
Authentic West African & Southern Cuisine
Chef Ramona Young founded Kente Kitchen in 2014 as a food vendor at the Goombay Festival in Asheville, NC, bringing the vibrant culinary traditions of West Africa to the community. Inspired by the teachings of her late fiancé’s family and the Liberian community in Charlotte, she turned her passion into a mission to share these flavors through pop-ups, catering, and education.
In 2022, Kente Kitchen evolved into Kente Kitchen Market, an e-commerce platform offering a curated selection of authentic West African food products, allowing enthusiasts to recreate and savor these flavors at home.
